The Mission announce UK Tour for May 2017 and unveil a new video for Blood On The Road.

The six UK dates start in Bournemouth on May 17th and includes Wayne’s Birthday celebration show in Sheffield, before concluding in Leicester on May 27th.

Wayne Hussey exclaims “Well, it’s now just over a week since we played our last show of the year in Auckland, New Zealand, and after the fun and frolics we enjoyed over the course of the last two months on tour we are already looking ahead to doing some more next year. So, do you wanna do it all again? We do.

With that in mind we are pleased to be able to announce more shows for next May & June (see dates below). There will be a couple more shows added to this tour (one of which is a BIG one) which will also be announced as soon as we have all the details.

The Mission have just completed their most extensive and ambitious tour since they reformed in 2011 and released the critically acclaimed and UK Top 40 new studio album Another Fall From Grace, which features Blood On The Road along with the singles : Tyranny Of Secrets and Met-Amor-Phosis.

Another Fall From Grace was produced by Wayne Hussey and Tim Palmer and features guest backing vocals from Gary Numan, Martin Gore (Depeche Mode), Ville Valo (HIM), Julianne Regan (All About Eve) & Evi Vine.

With the original members Wayne Hussey, Craig Adams and Simon Hinkler being joined by new drummer Mike Kelly in 2011 and armed by one of the most rabid fan bases in the world The Mission have continued to excite the legions with the release of their new album Another Fall From Grace and will continue to do so next year with these new shows.

The Mission

Announce 3 further UK shows

2016 sees The Mission celebrating 30 years since they first set foot on the stage at the intimate Alice In Wonderland club in London on January 20th 1986.

To celebrate The Mission set out on their most extensive and ambitious tour since they reformed in 2011, to coincide they will release a brand new studio album. Due to popular demand The Mission have added three further shows to the tour in November - 3rd Leeds O2 Academy, 4th London O2 Forum Kentish Town and 6th Birmingham O2 Institute.

The 30th anniversary tour starts in Dublin on October 1st and includes the Whitby Goth Weekend on November 5th.

Wayne Hussey exclaimed ’30 bloody years! Who would’ve thought it, eh? As we were well renowned for our, ahem, lifestyle choices, shall we say, I remember Melody Maker ran an office pool betting which member of The Mission would die first. I seem to remember Mick was the favourite with yours truly running a close 2nd. Well, we’re still here, alive and well and still going strong. It seems to me that anyone who survives past the age of 50 in this business these days is given honorary legendary status. It’s cheaply given, in my opinion, but we’ll take it.

I seriously never thought I’d see this day but 30 years is a remarkable achievement. Not one we could have achieved without the support and patronage of our brilliant audience. This celebration is for them as much as it is for our retirement funds.”

‘Singles A’s & B’s’

September 25th

On September 25th The Mission release Singles A’s & B’s through Universal Music Catalogue.

Singles A’s & B’s features all 15 of the band’s charting singles and includes seven that reached the UK Top 30, including Wasteland (No.11), Tower Of Strength (No.12) and Butterfly On A Wheel (also No.12). It is the first time these recordings have been collected together in one comprehensive 2-disc set and also includes unreleased edits.

In late 1985 Wayne Hussey and Craig Adams left The Sisters Of Mercy to form The Mission, immediately embarking upon their first European tour supporting The Cult. They released two singles independently, both of which reached No.1 in the UK Alternative Chart, before signing a worldwide record deal with Phonogram (now part of Universal Music’s Virgin EMI label group).

Their first single for Phonogram, ‘Stay With Me’, went straight into the UK chart at No. 30 followed by the debut album ‘God’s Own Medicine’, in at No. 14. Over the next eight years The Mission released six more albums and had a further 12 hits including the doom-rock anthems ‘Wasteland’, ‘Tower Of Strength’, ‘Beyond The Pale’, ‘Deliverance’ and ‘Butterfly On A Wheel’. Total worldwide album sales to date for the band have now exceeded well in advance of 3 million.

During the electrifying period covered by the collection The Mission enhanced their reputation as one of the best and most exciting live bands in the world, garnering countless accolades and inspiring lurid media stories and a fanatical following. In fact, they toured almost constantly, notching up seven sold-out consecutive shows at the Astoria Theatre in London, headlining Reading Festival twice, and playing with U2, The Cure and Robert Plant.
